My Story
Football has always been more than just a game for me—it’s a platform for empowerment, inclusion, and community. But my journey into coaching and creating Beyond the Ball started from a deeply personal place.
In 2021, I lost my mum to COVID. That loss changed everything. In the midst of grief, I found purpose in football—not just playing, but coaching, mentoring, and building spaces where women and girls could find confidence, support, and belonging. Football became my way of turning pain into something positive, of creating the kind of community I knew my mum would be proud of.
With a lifelong passion for the game, I’ve dedicated my career to making football more accessible, especially for women and underrepresented groups. From carrying the Olympic torch to earning coaching and refereeing qualifications, my journey has always been about breaking barriers and creating opportunities.
Beyond the Ball was born from a deep belief that football should be for everyone. Whether through grassroots initiatives, coach education, or wellbeing programmes, our mission is to ensure women and girls can thrive both on and off the pitch.
As well as founder and director of Beyond the Ball I have an expansive background in Sport Welfare and safeguarding. I’ve seen firsthand the challenges and opportunities within the women’s game. Beyond the Ball is my way of driving lasting change—one session, one conversation, and one player at a time.
I’m incredibly proud of how far we’ve come, from local initiatives to national recognition, and even taking our passion overseas. But this is just the beginning. I can’t wait to see how we continue to grow and make an impact together.
Join us in shaping the future of women’s football—because it’s about more than just the game.
