About us

Welcome to Beyond the Ball — where football is for every woman, no matter your age, ability, or experience. We're all about creating an inclusive, supportive space where women can enjoy the game, build confidence, and connect with others.

Our programmes are designed to be fun, welcoming, and empowering. Whether you're a total beginner or a seasoned player, there's something for you:

Weekly football sessions — for fitness, fun, and friendship.
Seasonal leagues and tournaments — a chance to challenge yourself and celebrate the game.
Play For Your Mind, Women's wellbeing and football programme — combining mental and physical health with football as a bonus.
International trips — unforgettable experiences that go beyond the pitch.

We don't just play football — we give back. We're proud to support local charities, raise funds for community projects, and create meaningful impact both on and off the field.

Since we started, we've engaged over 100 women aged 18-60, run successful leagues and tournaments, and raised nearly £3000 for good causes. In 2023 alone, we delivered 34 hours of football, welcomed 151 women to our sessions, and recorded 593 sign-ups.

Our efforts have been recognised too — we were proud nominees for the Best Grassroots Initiative of the Year 2024 at the Women's Football Awards.
